ENYO Retail and Supply continues station rollout across Nigeria, Graduates first batch MECHTECH academy beneficiaries
ENYO Retail and Supply, an operator in the oil and gas sector has graduated its first batch of trainees from its Mechanics & technicians training academy called MECHTECH. MECHTECH, commenced in 2018 with the mandate to improve the functional and entrepreneurial competencies of identified mechanics and support their ability to improve their value proposition to their customers whilst at the same time improve their income and grow their businesses.
Whilst congratulating the 50 pioneer graduates of the program, the Chief Executive officer of Enyo Retail and Supply, Mr. Abayomi Awobokun, expressed the company’s interest in the development of skills in the auto-mechanics sector evidenced by their investment not only in training of mechanics but also in the provision of tools and working capital to the participants of the scheme.
Abayomi thanked the Lagos State Chairman and the executives of the Motormechs and Technicians Association of Nigeria (MOMTAN), the umbrella body for all the participants in the Enyo MechTech program for their keen interest in the development of their members and their support for the program.
‘MOMTAN”, he added, “will pioneer the emergence of a highly competent group of male and female auto-mechanics across the country known for their professionalism and discipline and Enyo is very proud to be part of their success journey”.
MechTech 1.0, the pioneer class of participants, had 46 men and only 4 women and this was pointed out by the CEO of Enyo Retail & Supply for correction in future batches of the training and development program.
Whilst congratulating the participants, Mr. Gbola Oba the COO of Automedics Nigeria Limited; the organization which carried out the training and Alhaji Morouf Arowolo, the Chairman of MOMTAN’s Lagos State Chapter both stressed the need for the participants to always seek to provide the best service possible to all customers they come in contact with.
The graduation program took place at Enyo Retail & Supply’s Sangotedo station in the Lekki – Ajah axis of Lagos state and it attracted over 100 cars from the general public who came to benefit from the free car diagnostics services made available by Enyo to commemorate the event.
While there are other similar initiatives in the Country, MECHTECH he said is unique. “In that in addition to training, we financially empower and provide MechTech participants with some equipment and access to our auto-centres to improve their chances of success as entrepreneurs”.
Abayomi commented that Enyo’s MechTech program is radical and unique compared to other similar initiatives across the country as participants are not only trained but also empowered with tools and working capital on an interest free basis to boost their business prospects.
Certificates were handed to all participants with prizes going out to the top 3 participants by Mr. Banjo Alimi; Enyo’s Sales and Marketing lead, Mrs. Habiba Abubakar, Mr. Fernando Madeira the Chief Finance Officer of the company and other senior executives of the organization.
In his response, Alhaji Moruf Arowolo, Chairman, MOMTAN Lagos thanked the board and management of Enyo Retail & Supply especially the CEO of the company and the ENYO team for “supporting MOMTAN’s members to upscale their professional ability and also sharpen their entrepreneurial skills. “We have seen your vision and passion and we are ready to support you and your company in achieving these goals”, he promised.
The event was well attended by numerous automobile organizations, the Federal Road Safety Corps represented by the sector commander Mrs. Abosede Omotehinse, other relevant government agencies and numerous customers of Enyo Retail & Supply.
Noah Olamilekan and Tosin Okeowo (a lady) both participants recounted their positive experiences during the 10-week intensive training sponsored by Enyo Retail & Supply. Participants were pleased with the curriculum and quality of delivery by Automedics especially because of the focus on safety, professionalism and reliance on knowledge rather than just gut. Michael Semako, emerged Best Graduating Student, Oshilaje Afeez and Paul Idowu as 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively. Each went home with additional prizes for their efforts. The Mechtech program is expected to commence its 2nd batch for 2018 in Q4 and up to 100 mechanics are expected to be selected from over 1000 applications from around the country.
